Phonetic

Registering for my January ground class to accomplish a life goal via pilots licence, I hit my first bit of mental turbulence.

Spelling out my name, Kalani, had always been a natural process when introducing myself over the phone. I gave the registration agent all my info. Name, address, email, etc. When the agent repeated the information, as usual,  it was riddled with errors. Realizing I was speaking to the aviation community, I changed from the normal pronunciation of the alphabet to the phonetica alphabet. As one could imagine, the difference was profound. Turbulence created by the pockets of miscommunication had been corrected by the efficiency of a phonetic conversation.

Should this discovery of efficiency in my life be a constant in the journey of acquiring said license, this may be the model of education I have always sought to plug into.
